Support the Department

The University of Alabama Department of Psychiatry will become a cornerstone of comprehensive and collaborative translational neuroscience research enabling UAB School of Medicine to become one of the dominant forces in cutting edge, integrated research activities in clinical neuroscience.

Your support is needed to:

• Create new research funds to support research projects, pilot projects, and bridge funding for investigators in our areas of disease focus
• Support our residency and fellowship programs so that we can continue to educate and mentor young clinicians and investigators within the department while increasing the number of psychiatrists in the state
• Establish funds to support clinical programs and clinical research in high prevalence disease areas such as schizophrenia, depression, anxiety disorders, substance abuse, and disorders associated with the elderly and children.
• Establish new endowed chairs, professorships, lectureships, and fellowships
